THE HISTORY OF THE PLANE
The airplane as we know it could not have existed without the concepts and invention of the famous Leonardo da Vinci. We owe to the inventor of genius the development of the propeller, the glider and even the parachute since the 16th century! Unfortunately, the invention of the combustion engine would not arrive until two centuries later, rendering Da Vinci’s aircraft concepts useless.

It was not until two centuries later that Man took to the skies with the invention of the air balloon by the Montgolfier brothers, which later gave rise to the famous hot air balloon.

It was not until 1890 that another Frenchman, Clement Ader, recorded the first takeoff in a motorized flying machine. Finally, the Wright brothers were the first to make a controlled flight in their biplane: the Flyer. This historic first, which marked the beginning of civil aviation, lasted a total of… 59 seconds!

The craze that followed this feat stimulated research in the field of aeronautics: the wings became more efficient, the aileron more precise, the famous joystick was invented in 1906 and star engines made their appearance.
